Erlangen/Freiburg – The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is going to fund KI-VesD's second phase for three years with almost 5 million euros. In the second phase, the goals are to validate the excellent results of the previous phase in clinical trials and to prepare the ground for spinning off a startup. In addition, the test systems and automation solutions for the lab will be refined and improved.
The Hahn-Schickard-Gesellschaft für angewandte Forschung e.V. (campus in Freiburg, microfluidics and lab automation) and the Uniklinikum Erlangen will continue their successful cooperation, the latter with the involvment of three clinical departments (Dermatology, Urology and Hematology and Internistic Oncology) and two Dermatology-affiliated research labs (Molecular Dermatology & Extracellular Vesicle Analysis and Professorship of Systems Tumor Immunology).
