At the 2025 annual meeting of the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV2025) in Vienna (Austria), we were part of the line-up with two talks on extracellular vesicle-associated protease activity as a technically robust biomarker for cancer detection and monitoring.
KI-VesD researcher Dr. Jan Van Deun communicated our results in the monitoring of Tebentafusp treatment response in uveal melanoma patients, contributing insights into the surveilance of a rather novel therapy for a poorly treatable cancer arising in the eye.
As a beneficiary of a Junior Research Fellowship for attendance, Cuno Lange, an MD student in the lab of Prof. Andreas Baur, presented his work on prostate cancer, where our method shows promise for the detection of primary and relapsed tumors.
We thank the organizers of ISEV2025 for the opportunity to share our findings and discuss them with the field.
