Presenting the V-Disk at GSEV Autumn Meeting 2024

The Hahn-Schickard team – Ehsan Arjmand, Gustav Grether, and Jan Lüddecke – presented their development progress on the automated extraction of extracellular vesicles at the GSEV 2024 Autumn meeting.

It was a great experience and we received a lot of positive feedback on our approach to automate and standardize EV purification from blood for cancer diagnostics. Isolating and purifying EVs from blood is challenging due to their nanoscale size and the complexity of biological fluids. The V-Disk is a significant step towards fully automated EV purification, achieving high purity and recovery rates quickly with minimal manual intervention, and thus a prerequisite for clinical applications. We thank the organizers for hosting such a valuable event and everyone who visited our poster and provided insightful feedback on our technology.

The Autumn meeting of the German Society for Extracellular Vesicles (GSEV) took place in Hamburg, Germany on October 1-2, 2024.
